OPT100 Round Bottomed Flask Reaction Block, 100mL. OptiTherm aluminum reaction / heating blocks provide a SAFE and cost effective solution for replacing your existing oil baths and heating mantles. The innovative PTFE shield on the unit reduces the exterior exposed surface temperature by as much as 100C. For example the PTFE shield would be approximately 80C on a 100mL round bottom flask that is heated to 180C.Three different OptiTherm blocks are available. The OPT100 is used for 100mL round bottom flasks. Each block can be used with other corresponding inserts. The anodized aluminum flask inserts are color coded for easy identification. Interchangeable aluminum heating blocks provide excellent thermal conductivity and accommodate various test tubes, cups, and plates. Depending on the combination of blocks selected, plastic spacers (36620-67) can be used to fill a half-width recess, ensuring optimal thermal performance. Most blocks come with a separate hole to accept a thermometer. Order a flexi-block to accommodate multiple size tubes, vials, or cuvettes at once. Unskirted PCR plates can be heated in either size flexi-block. Skirted microtiter plates, deep-well plates, and PCR plates can only be incubated in the triple-width version.
